EVGA's take on the GTX 650 Ti is almost identical to the
GTX 650 1GB that we looked at last week, as it features the same black and grey cooler with a single 80mm fan. Though the cooler is designed to funnel some air out directly out of your system through the graphics card, some of the hot air from the heatsink will be exhausted back into your case.

As with the EVGA GTX 650 1GB before it, the aluminium heatsink of the dual slot cooler sits atop the GPU and hovers slightly above the memory chips, thus drawing heat away from both. The power circuitry, however, is left without cover from the heatsink near the card's rear I/O panel.
At 146mm, the card is the same small length as the reference one, and should fit comfortably into most cases with room for a dual-slot card. It also features the same set of external connectors as the reference card – two dual-link DVIs and a single mini-HDMI.

The SSC in the name stands for “supersuperclocked” (spaces are so uncool these days) and refers to the fact that the card comes with a pre-applied overclock. Although the amount of memory and its clock speed match those of the stock card, the GPU core frequency is 1,071MHz. This equates to an overclock of 146MHz, or 16%, which is certainly respectable.

The PCB design is again very similar to the GTX 650 1GB, with the GPU sat near the middle of the card and the four 256MB memory modules surrounding it on two sides. Power circuitry is also the same as the lesser card – two GPU power phases and a single memory power phase give the card 3+1 phase power, which is adequate for its relatively low TDP. Finally, the PCI-E connection is side-mounted, and will thus face into your case rather than towards the roof. Users may be interested to know that EVGA's GTX 650 Ti will be bundled with a download code for the upcoming Assassin's Creed 3, although this will not affect our scoring of the card.
